Best Time to Visit Çorum
From open-air ruins to highland plateaus — which season is most enjoyable in Çorum? Here is the climate and what each period has to offer.
Çorum has a transitional climate between the Black Sea and Central Anatolia: summers are hot and relatively dry, winters cold and snowy. Planning around this seasonal rhythm makes for a more comfortable trip.
🌸 Spring (April–June) — ideal
With nature in bloom and mild weather, this is the best time for open-air sites such as Hattusa and Alacahöyük. Canyons and walking routes are also at their best in these months.
☀️ Summer (July–August) — highland season
The centre and lowlands can get hot; those seeking cooler air head for the highland plateaus and İncesu Canyon. Visiting ruins early in the morning or in the late afternoon is more comfortable.
🍂 Autumn (September–October) — the second ideal window
Like spring, it is mild and excellent for sightseeing; the changing colours also make for beautiful photos.
❄️ Winter (December–February)
Cold and at times snowy. The city centre, the museum and the bazaars can be visited year-round, and the Çatak area offers snowy scenery and skiing. Travel at higher elevations can be harder depending on the weather.
