Where to Stay in Çorum
City centre, or close to the archaeological sites? Here is which area makes most sense to stay in, based on what you plan to do in Çorum.
Where to stay in Çorum depends mostly on what you want to do. The breakdown below helps you pick the right base. (This page gives general orientation; for current properties and prices, check booking platforms.)
🏙️ City centre — the practical choice
For most visitors the centre makes the most sense. The Çorum Museum, the historic bazaars, the castle, the clock tower and restaurants are all within walking distance. The centre is also the easiest launch point for Hattusa, İskilip and the nature routes.
🚌 Bus terminal / main road area — for short stopovers
If you are staying just one night before moving on, accommodation near the terminal (otogar) and the main route makes arrivals and departures easy. This suits travellers passing through by road.
🏛️ Towards Hattusa / Boğazkale — for site-focused trips
If your main aim is to see Hattusa, Yazılıkaya and Alacahöyük early, before the crowds, staying nearer the sites around Boğazkale or Sungurlu cuts the drive. The centre is about an hour from Hattusa.
How many days to plan?
- 1 day: City centre only (museum + bazaar + castle + leblebi).
- 2 days: Centre + Hattusa and the surrounding Hittite sites.
- 2–3 days: The above plus nature routes (İncesu Canyon, plateaus) and İskilip.
