Bilaller Konağı (Mansion)
Bilaller Konağı is a mansion in the Üçtutlar neighborhood of central Çorum, officially listed as a protected example of civil architecture. According to the Çorum Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, the building is a two-storey, rectangular-plan structure with projecting upper floors, built using the timber-frame technique; it has a hipped roof covered with Turkish-style tiles and, together with its garden, covers roughly 900 square meters.
Restoration
The owners allocated the mansion to the Special Provincial Administration free of charge for 49 years, for use by the Directorate of Culture and Tourism. A project to convert it into the Bilaller Culture and Art Center was accepted under the Central Black Sea Development Agency’s (OKA) Tourism Infrastructure Support program, and the mansion was restored between 2017 and 2019.
Present Use
Once restoration was completed, the mansion began serving as the office of the Çorum Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism in January 2021, allowing the directorate to continue its work in a building whose historic fabric had been preserved.
