Places to Visit in Çorum & Suggested Routes

Çorum can be explored for both its archaeology and its nature. Below are itineraries by interest, with approximate times for each stop. All distances are approximate from the city center; see the relevant pages and the map for details.

🏛️ Hittite Route (full day)

A magnificent archaeological day around the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hattusa:

  • Hattusa (Boğazkale, ~80 km) — walls, the Lion Gate, the King's Gate, the Yerkapı tunnel. Time: 2–3 hours.
  • Yazılıkaya open-air sanctuary — rock reliefs, very close to Hattusa. 30–45 min.
  • Boğazköy Museum — excavation finds. 45 min–1 hour.
  • Alacahöyük (~45 km) and the Alacahöyük Museum — Hattian royal tombs. 1–1.5 hours.
